Wiggly-Eyed Glitter Fish Craft
It's time to craft! We love curating craft ideas from our friends at Lakeshore Learning. Be sure to visit their site for all of your craft ideas and supplies. Today's idea is sure to get your preschooler's imagination going. Have fun!
This activity is appropriate for: pre-k - 2nd grade / 3 - 7 years
You will need:
Best-Buy Scissors - Blunt Tip
Art Tissue Paper
Jumbo Colored Craft Sticks
Tacky Glue - 4 Ounces
Wiggly Eyes
Lakeshore Jumbo Glitter Painters - 12-Bottle Set
Best-Buy Washable Broad-Tip Markers or Lakeshore Large Crayon Packs
Before You Begin:
Cut the tissue paper sheets into 4" squares.
NOTE: To make gluing easier, try pouring small amounts of glue into collage bowls or paper bowls. Then provide children with paintbrushes for spreading the glue onto their crafts.
Directions:
Provide each child with jumbo craft sticks. Assist them in arranging the craft sticks into the shape of a fish and gluing the sticks in place.
Direct children to glue a tissue paper square to the back of the craft sticks so it fills the middle of the fish.
Invite children to decorate their fish with the craft materials! Once dry, this “fish out of water” will glitter brightly!
